I am  Isabel Perez Meza, a bilingual(Spanish & English speaker), Mexican-American. I was born in Moorpark,CA but raised the majority of my life in a small, beautiful, agricultural town called Lamont,CA located in the Central Valley of California. I just recently became a first-generation college graduate, now I am a California State University, Chico alumna with a Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies Bilingual CrossCultural Education and a minor in Spanish. However, my educational journey is not over yet, I am excited to continue my education at San Diego State University and pursue my Bilingual Teaching Credential this fall of 2020! I am a passionate aspiring future bilingual educator who loves working with youth to empower and provide them with safe, inclusive spaces. Through my work with Camp ELSO, I aspire to influence youth of color to be our next engineers, doctors, astronauts or park rangers and help them understand that they belong in whatever spaces and careers they choose to occupy. Furthermore, whenever I am not doing schoolwork or working with children I love to be outdoors. I am a nature lover who enjoys finding personal healing through the outdoors whether it be going on a hike, taking a walk, or learning how to garden.
